OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated October 3, 2017, and pursuant to
Section 26C(1) of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act , and
Section 45.79 of
Part VII.1 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act , R.S.C., 1985, C. R-10, is pleased, effective October 16, 2017, to: (
a) revoke Order in Council 2016-219 dated September 13, 2016; (
b) appoint John Scott as the interim Nova Scotia Civilian Director of the Serious Incident Response Team for one term not exceeding one year; (
c) designate John Scott as the designated authority for the purposes of Parts VII.1 and VII.2 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act; (
d) fix the salary of John Scott at $5,200 bi-weekly plus travel expenses, payable in accordance with the travel policies and guidelines of the Province of Nova Scotia; (
e) direct that John Scott receive 4% pay in lieu of vacation; (
f) direct that John Scott be entitled to such benefit entitlements as he would receive if he were an employee for the purposes of the Nova Scotia Labour Standards Code ; and (
g) direct that John Scott is not, by this appointment or otherwise, a civil servant entitled to civil service benefits.
