Reason for Increase: Increase to the contract includes additional facility equipment

and required equipment for facility commissioning. Contract per cent is cumulative.

Contract Amount: $18,500,000.00

% Increase: 102%

Amount of Increase: $18,908,762.90

Contract: Design and Upgrade Sprinkler and Fire Alarm (P1-S1) - Seniors and

Housing - Various

Contractor: GlobalTech Group Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Additional fire alarm devices are required in attic and crawl

space to meet building code.

Contract Amount: $635,000.00

% Increase: 28%

Amount of Increase: $180,897.31

Contract: Design and Upgrade Sprinkler and Fire Alarm (P1-S3) - Seniors and

Housing - Various

Contractor: GlobalTech Group

Reason for Increase: Additional increase to contract is required to complete the last

two change orders which will complete this project. Upgrade to the elevator is being

completed with another project and this affects our project upgrade which will require

additional relay modules to complete our scope of work. Provide additional smoke

detection in crawl space to bring up to code. Change order total is for two buildings.

Contract Amount: $630,000.00

% Increase: 53%

Amount of Increase: $335,534.64

Contract: Edmonton - Gene Zwozdesky Centre at Norwood

Contractor: Clark Builders Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Additional design and construction work at foundations and

structure, and re-sequencing construction activities, required due to unforeseen site

conditions. Additional underpinning work was required for the existing building in

near vicinity.

Contract Amount: $230,000,000.00

% Increase: 16%

Amount of Increase: $37,558,240.00

Contract: Edmonton - Infrastructure Building - Parkade Ramp and Damaged Walls

Repairs

Contractor: PCL Construction Management Inc.

Reason for Increase: After demolition of the brick cladding it became apparent that

existing concrete wall had a significant bow to its face. This bow has created

subsequent complication as to placement of the railing and pre-cast caps originally

designed which resulted in discussions between the project team to determine what

might be the best solution to resolve.

A cast-in-place cap was determined to be the most economical solution that would

allow for the variation in the wall and provide the required bearing for the fence

support and loads.

The impact of the unforeseen structural issue and solution will result in additional

costs to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $1,054,000.00

% Increase: 23%

Amount of Increase: $246,840.00

Contract: Edmonton - Misericordia Community Hospital Emergency Department

PCL Contract Increase

Contractor: PCL Construction Management Inc.

Reason for Increase: Higher tender prices in 2020-2022 required a higher tolerance

for the construction management contract. The project also adopted and combined the

$9 million in scope of another project for site emergency power with the scope of this

project to provide a more efficient system.

Contract Amount: $42,000,000.00

% Increase: 57%

Amount of Increase: $24,000,000.00

Contract: Footner Lake - Footner Lake Lagoon - Sewage Lagoon Cleanup

Contractor: Dechant Construction Ltd

Reason for Increase: Additional funds required for Change Orders/Field orders

pending for the installation of perforated drain pipe, (drainage rock and geotextile)

manhole to prevent infiltration into the sewage lagoons. Work will require additional

pumping out of standing water to existing cell, removal of berm material,

reconditioning and reconstruction of berm - pushing construction for 2022.

Anticipating additional unknown scopes of work to be complete in the Spring 2023,

due to unknown ground conditions no proper geotechnical work was done ahead of

the design work on this site.

Contract Amount: $1,288,296.80

% Increase: 63%

Amount of Increase: $808,829.68

Contract: Leduc - Agrivalue Processing Business Incubator - Facility Expansion

Contractor: Fillmore Construction Management Inc.

Reason for Increase: Due to anticipated budget cost pressures, scope was removed

from the tender package to reduce project cost, with the intent that all or a portion of

the deleted scope could be re-instated subject to favorable tender pricing. Favorable

tenders were received for the Prime Contractor Services, and the contract was

awarded at a value below the allocated construction budget.

The contract increase is due to the partial reinstatement of the deleted Scope of Work,

which accounts for 24% of the increase, with the remaining 10% being retained as

original contingency for unforeseeable conditions.

Contract Amount: $16,925,000.00

Contract: Medicine Hat Provincial Building - Skylight Repairs and Roof

Replacement

Contractor: 360326 Alberta Ltd. o/a Peerless Building Products

Reason for Increase: This second CCCI increase is required to complete

modifications to existing building walls to accommodate the increased roof insulation

requirements as per Technical Design Requirements Standards and meet ARCA

warranty guidelines. Original sections of roof were not constructed correctly to allow

for replacement of roofing with added insulation. Windows have to be replaced with

smaller height windows and construct an infill wall system to receive an exterior,

hidden fastener cladding system, a set of louvers have to be modified in height and

two walls need the brick removed and wall resurfaced with an exterior, hidden

fastener cladding system. These changes need to be completed to allow for adequate

finished wall height for proper installation of new roofing and correct parapet

construction between new roof and walls. We are also replacing 25 glazing units that

have broken seals as the glazing company is already mobilized on site replacing

windows that were identified for replacement in the contract. This increase also

allows for the re-caulking of all window frames that are not being replaced,

entrance/exit door units and brick expansion joints.

Contract Amount: $3,664,163.00

% Increase: 44%

Amount of Increase: $1,614,461.30

Contract: Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Renovation and Redevelopment

Contractor: Stuart Olson Construction Ltd.

Reason for Increase: The contract increase is the result of relocating air handling

system components to rectify a water infiltration issue.

Contract Amount: $143,717,000.00

% Increase: 63%

Amount of Increase: $90,672,579.40

Contract: Peace River - Ecole Des Quatre-Vents K-12 Replacement

Contractor: GenMec ACL Inc.

Reason for Increase: The building slab was raised post tender to meet a 1:100 year

ice jam event to mitigate flood risk to the facility. The scope of work required to

implement the needed changes includes revised site improvements, revised cut/fill

material for site, revised site mechanical, revised rough grading, revised landscaping,

additional survey and testing, and

schedule extension.

Contract Amount: $17,487,700.00

% Increase: 12%

Amount of Increase: $2,089,961.76

Contract: Stony Plain Provincial Building and Courthouse - Fire Alarm and

Emergency Generator Replacement

Contractor: Setanta Contracting Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Change orders up to $210,000 are anticipated to completed the

project, including:

- Addition of exterior emergency generator for the Courthouse Building; an

alternative to an underground fire-rated cable at twice the cost,

- Addition of sprinkler monitor modules,

- Contingency for unforeseen costs required to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $403,000.00

Notices and advertisements must be received ten full working days before the

date of the issue in which the notices are to appear. Submissions received after

that date will appear in the next regular issue.

Notices and advertisements should be typed and on a sheet separate from the covering

letter. An electronic submission by email is preferred. Email submissions may be sent

to the Editor of The Alberta Gazette at albertagazette@gov.ab.ca. The number of

insertions required should be specified and the names of all signing officers typed or

printed. Please include the name and complete contact information of the individual

submitting the notice or advertisement.

Proof of Publication: Statutory Declaration is available upon request.

A copy of the page containing the notice or advertisement will be emailed to each

advertiser without charge.
