B.C. Reg. 266/2003, deposited June 27, 2003, pursuant to the WILDLIFE ACT [Section 108 (2) and (3)]. Regulation of the Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection dated June 26, 2003.

I, Joyce Murray, Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection, order that the Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulation, B.C. Reg. 196/99, is amended as set out in the attached

Appendix. — J. MURRAY , Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection.

Appendix

1 The Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulation, B.C. Reg. 196/99, is amended in

section 8 (5) (

b) by striking out "item 44" and substituting "items 21 and 44".

Schedule 1 is amended

(

a) in item 1, by striking out "Effective during the period December 1 to April 30 inclusive" and substituting "Effective year round",

(

b) by repealing item 39,

(

c) in item 41, by striking out "7-42" and substituting "7-43" and by striking out "; and Talisman PCP Falls, Mount Bickford (M.U. 7-31)",

(

d) in item 46, by striking out "map No. 1-46" and substituting "Map No. 1-46/03" and by repealing Map No. 1-46 and replacing it with the attached Map No. 1-46/03, and

(

e) by adding the following items and the attached Maps Nos. 1-53/03, 1-55/03 and 1-57/03:

Hot Lakes

53 During the period May 1 to November 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-24

(

a) situated beyond 400 metres on either side of Hot Lakes Road, as shown in green, and

(

b) situated beyond 10 metres, as shown in red

on the attached Map 1-53/03.

Cassiar Townsite

54 During the period May 1 to November 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-24 situated beyond 400 metres on either side of Cassiar Townsite and Quartzrock Creek access roads, commencing at the junction of Highway 37 with the Cassiar Townsite access road; thence westerly to the Cassiar Townsite; thence northerly along the Quartzrock Creek Access Road to the headwaters of Quartzrock Creek at the height of land that separates the drainage of Quartzrock Creek from the drainage of the Blue River.

Dease Lake Townsite

55 During the period May 1 to November 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-23 situated beyond 400 metres on either side of Goldpan Road, as shown in green on the attached Map 1-55/03.

Tanzilla Butte

56 During the period May 1 to November 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-19 situated beyond 400 metres on either side of Middle Range Mining Access Road, commencing at the junction of the Jade/Boulder Mining Access Road and the Middle Range Mining Access Road; thence southerly along the Middle Range Mining Access Road to its end.

Todagin Mountain

57 During the period May 1 to November 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-20 situated beyond 400 metres on either side of Todagin Mountain Mining Access Road as shown in green and situated beyond 10 metres as shown in red on the attached Map 1-57/03.

Adsit Lake

58 During the period May 1 to November 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-24 situated beyond 400 metres on either side of the Adsit Lake Road and beyond 400 metres on either side of the road leading to Porcupine Lake and including beyond 400 metres of the ends of both roads.

Tsatia Mountain

59 Effective year round, in that portion of M.U. 6-20, commencing at the intersection of Tsatia Creek and the 1 400 metres elevation contour; thence following said contour in a generally northerly, easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly direction to the point of commencement.

Klastline Plateau

60 Effective year round, in that portion of M.U. 6-21 commencing at the intersection of Quash Creek and the 1 400 metres elevation contour; thence following said contour in a generally northerly, easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly direction to the point of commencement.

Level Mountain Block

61 Effective year round, in that portion of M.U.s 6-22 and 6-26 commencing at the intersection of Beatty Creek and the 1 400 metres elevation contour; thence following said contour in a generally easterly, northerly, westerly, southerly, easterly and northerly direction to the point of commencement.

Gnat Pass

62 Effective year round, in that portion of M.U. 6-19 commencing at the intersection of Gnat Creek and the 1 400 metres elevation contour; thence following said contour in a northerly, easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly direction to the point of commencement.

Midway Mine Access Trail

63 During the period May 1 to November 15, inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 6-24 shown outlined in red on the attached Map No. 2-36 and described as follows:

Commencing at the junction of Midway Mine Road and the unnamed trail that runs south towards the Little Rancheria River, locally known as the Midway Mine Access Trail; thence southerly along said trail to a point 5 km north of the Little Rancheria River and including an area 400 metres beyond and on either side of the trail.

Schedule 2 is amended by repealing items 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 29, 30, 31, 32,

33 and 36.

Schedule 7 is amended by adding the following items and the attached Maps Nos. 7-3/03, 7-4/03, 7-5/03 and 7-6/03:

Frisby Ridge

3 During the period December 15 to April 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 4-39 shown outlined in red on the attached Map No. 7-3/03, except the trail shown in red on that map.

Sale Mountain

4 During the period December 15 to April 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 4-38 located south of the communications tower on Sale Mountain and shown outlined in red on the attached Map No. 7-4/03.

Keystone/Standard Peak

5 During the period December 15 to April 15 inclusive, in those portions of M.U. 4-38 shown outlined in red and designated area 2 south west of Keystone Peak, and areas 5 and 6 south west of Standard Peak on the attached Map No. 7-5/03.

Caribou Basin

6 During the period December 15 to April 15 inclusive, in that portion of M.U. 4-38 above 1 300 metres between the Goldstream River Road, west of Granite Creek, and the east fork of Brewster Creek shown outlined in green on the attached Map No. 7-6/03, except the trail shown in red and the area outlined in red, which are open weekends and statutory holidays.
