An Act to amend the Environmental Protection Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Part III (Motors and Motor Vehicles) of the Environmental Protection Act is amended by adding the following section: Minimum ethanol content

23.1

(1) Gasoline that is used as a fuel to operate a motor vehicle shall contain at least 6 per cent of ethanol by volume. Prohibition

(2) No person shall sell or offer for sale, as a fuel for operating motor vehicles, gasoline that does not comply with subsection (1). Same

(3) No person shall use, as a fuel to operate a motor vehicle, gasoline that does not comply with subsection (1). Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on January 1, 2005.
