AN ACT TO AMEND THE ALBERTA OPPORTUNITY FUND ACT (Assented to , 1982) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The Alberta Opportunity Fund Act is amended by this Act. 2

Section is amended (

a) by renumbering clause (

a) as clause (a.i), and (

b) by adding thefollowing before the renumbered clause (a.J): (a) "applicant" means a commercial enterprise eligible for loans and guarantees under this Act that is making application for a loan or guarantee under this Act; 3 The following is added after

section 12: 12.1 No applicant shall be required, as a condition of obtaining a.loan ~r guarar:ttee, to satisfy the Company that adequate finan cIal assIstance IS not obtainable from any other source on rea sonable terms and conditions. In accordance with

section 4(

I) of the

Interpretation Act, this Bill comes into force on the date it receives Royal Assent. 1 Explanatory Notes This Bill will amend

chapter A-34 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1980. 2 Adds a definition. 3 Removes requirement to show other sources of financial assistance not available. 1 Title: 1982 (19th, 4th) Bill 229,
