An Act to Amend the Medical Services Payment Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, en- acts as follows: 1 Subsection 2(4) of the Medical Services Pay- ment Act,

chapter M-7 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is repealed and the following is substituted: 2(4) Notwithstanding subsection (2), the provin- cial authority may enter into an agreement with medical facilities in the State of Maine to provide entitled services to beneficiaries who reside or work in or visit a prescribed geographic area within New Brunswick, and the medical services plan may pro- vide payments of amounts in respect of entitled ser- vices furnished to those beneficiaries at those med- ical facilities at the rate negotiated by the provincial authority. 2 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation. Section The existing provision is as follows: 2(4) Notwithstanding subsection (2), the provincial authority may enter into an agreement with medical facilities in the State of Maine to provide entitled services to beneficiaries who reside in a prescribed geographic area within New Brunswick, and the medical services plan may provide payments of amounts in re- spect of entitled services furnished to those beneficiaries at those medical facilities at the rate negotiated by the provincial author- ity.
