I, Nathan Cullen, Minister of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship, order that
(
a) the Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 190/84, is amended as set out in the attached
Appendix 1,
(
b) the Limited Entry Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 134/93, is amended as set
out in the attached Appendix 2, and
(
c) the Management Unit Regulation, B.C. Reg. 64/96, is amended as set out in
the attached Appendix 3.

Appendix 1
Section 1 (1) of the Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 190/84, is amended by repealing
the definition of "spike buck" .

Moose
(1) The open seasons for hunting with a bow only for bull moose in M.U.s 6-1 and 6-2
are from September 1 to September 9 and November 16 to November 20.
(2) The open season for bull moose in that portion of M.U. 6-2 located within
Tweedsmuir Park is from October 20 to November 15.
(3) There is no open season for moose during the period September 25 to October 10,
within 400 m of the shore of and over that portion of Teslin Lake south of the north
end of Shaman Island (also known as Burial Island), and including Shaman Island.
(4) There is no open season for moose, except as provided in the Limited Entry
Hunting Regulation (B.C. Reg. 134/93), in any of the following zones, as shown on
the corresponding map in
Schedule II of the Limited Entry Hunting Regulation:
(
a) Zone C of M.U.s 6-23 and 6-19, as shown on map ‘2024 Moose Zone C of 6-23,
6-19’;
(
b) Zone A of M.U. 6-21, as shown on map ‘2024 Moose Zone A of 6-21’;
(
c) Zone A of M.U.s 6-22, 6-19 and 6-21, as shown on map ‘2024 Moose Zone A of

(

Schedule 7 is amended

Hunting Regulation (B.C. Reg. 134/93), in Zone A of M.U. 7-52, as shown on map ‘2024
Moose Zone A of 7-52’.
Appendix 2
Section 1 of the Limited Entry Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 134/93, is amended
(
a) in subsection (1) by repealing the definition of "spike buck" ,
(
b) in subsection (1) by the adding the following definition:
"tine" or "point" means the branch of an antler which is longer than its breadth and is at least 2.5 cm
in length, and for the purpose of determining the length of a tine
(
a) the breadth of the tine is measured (if extending from a palmation of an antler,
then in the plane of the palm) at a location at least 2.5 cm from the tip of the tine,
and
(
b) the length of the tine is measured from its tip end, following the midline
of the profile of the tine, and following the natural curvature of the tine, to the
midpoint of the straight line along which the breadth is measured; , and
(
c) by adding the following subsection:
(4) For the purposes of the definition of "5 point bull caribou" in subsection (1),
if the rear point of an antler is missing, the first rear-facing point will be used
as the rear point.
Section 21 is amended by striking out " Zone A of M.U. 1-04, Zone D of M.U. 1-05, Zones A and B of M.U. 1-06 " and substituting " Zone A of M.U. 1-4, Zone D of M.U. 1-5, Zones A and B of M.U. 1-6 ".
Section 23 is amended by striking out " Zones C and J of M.U. 2-05 " and substituting " Zones C and J of M.U. 2-5 ".
Section 26 (3) is amended by striking out " Zones A and B of M.U. 4-01, Zones A and B of M.U. 4-02, M.U.s 4-03 to 4-09 " and substituting " Zones A and B of M.U. 4-1, Zones A and B of M.U. 4-2, M.U.s 4-3 to 4-9 ".

26.01 In Zone A of M.U. 4-3 and Zone A of M.U. 4-22, limited entry hunting for antlerless
elk is restricted to private land and a hunter must have the permission of the landowner.
Section 27.1 is amended
(
a) in subsection (1) by striking out " Zone A of M.U. 6-04 " and substituting " Zone A of M.U. 6-4, ", and
(
b) in subsection (2) by striking out " Zone A of M.U. 6-04 " and substituting " Zone A of M.U. 6-4 ".
