Explanatory Note z. While the Act presently authorizes the Minister of Municipal Affairs to acquire real and personal property in respect of a special area, it does not apparently authorize him to dispose thereof. This Bill will so authorize him.

Part II relates the amendment to the revision and consolidation.

BILL No. 33 of 1956

An Act to amend The Special Areas Act (Assented to , 1956) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the u'gislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows:

PART I 1. The Special Areas Act, being

chapter 153 of the Re vised Statutes of Alberta, 1942, is hereby an1ended.

Section 13 is amended by adding immediately after clause (

k) the following: "(kk) to dispose of, by public tender or otherwise, any real or personal property acquired by the Minister and no longer requisite for the purpose of or in cidental to the exercise of any powers of adminis tration in the Special Area ;".

PART II 3. The Special ATeas Act, being

chapter 317 of the Re vised Statutes of Alberta, 1955, is hereby amended.

Section 12 is amended by adding immediately after clause (rn) the following clause: "( 1nm) to dispose of, by public tender or otherwise, any real or personal property acquired by the Minister and no longer requisite for the purpose of or inci dental to the exercise of any powers of administra tion in the special area ;". 5.

Part I and this

section come into force on the day this Act is assented to, and

Part II, except this section, comes into force and

Part I is repealed on the day the Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1955, come into force.
