OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated June 2, 2000, pursuant to Sections 4 and 7 of

Chapter 418 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Securities Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Professor H. Leslie O'Brien, Q.C., of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and Vice-Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission for a term of office of three years commencing June 5, 2000; (

b) determine the salary of Professor H. Leslie O'Brien as a member and Vice-Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission to be $39,000 per annum; and (

c) order that the Commission defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Professor H. Leslie O'Brien, arising out of his activities in relation to this appointment and indemnify him from personal liability in connection with any such claim or charge except any claim or charge based on fraud or criminal activities.
