ACTIVITIES DESIGNATION AMENDMENT REGULATION

December 4, 2008 pursuant to

section 85 of the Environmental Protection and

Enhancement Act.

1 The Activities Designation Regulation (AR 276/2003) is

amended by this Regulation.

Section 2(2) is amended by adding the following after

clause (nnn):

(nnn.1) "syngas" means a mixture that

(

i) contains carbon monoxide and hydrogen, and may also

contain methane, other hydrocarbons, nitrogen, carbon

dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, helium and minor

impurities,

(ii) is produced from non-gaseous fuel or biomass, and

(iii) is gaseous or liquid at the conditions under which its

volume is measured or estimated;

(nnn.2) "syngas plant" means a plant that recovers, manufactures or

processes syngas, but does not include an oil refinery, a sour

gas processing plant, a sweet gas processing plant, a power

plant, a fertilizer manufacturing plant, a petrochemical

manufacturing plant, a distillery, a chemical manufacturing

plant, an oil seed processing plant or a plant that processes

waste or recyclables;

Schedule 1, Division 2 is amended in clause (

h) by

adding the following after subclause (vii):

(viii) a syngas plant;

INDEMNITY AUTHORIZATION AMENDMENT REGULATION

section 71 of the Financial Administration Act.

1 The Indemnity Authorization Regulation (AR 22/97) is

amended by this Regulation.

2 The following is added after

section 10:

Canadian third party structured asset-backed commercial paper

indemnity

11(1) The Minister of Finance and Enterprise may on behalf of the

Crown enter into one or more agreements with the Government of

Canada, the governments of other provinces or other parties to

provide for the giving of indemnities by the Crown in connection

with the restructuring of Canadian third party structured

asset-backed commercial paper.

(2) The maximum aggregate liability of the Crown under

indemnities given by the Crown pursuant to an agreement or

agreements entered into under this

section must not exceed $300

million.

ALBERTA BARLEY COMMISSION AMENDMENT REGULATION

approved by the Agricultural Products Marketing Council on September 24, 2008

pursuant to

section 26 of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act.

1 The Alberta Barley Commission Regulation (AR 123/99)

is amended by this Regulation.

Section 1(1) is repealed and the following is substituted:

Definitions

1(1) In this Regulation,

(a) "Act" means the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act;

(b) "Plan" means the Alberta Barley Plan Regulation

(AR 111/99).

Section 16 is repealed.

Section 18 is amended by striking out "2009" and

substituting "2014".

1 The Alberta Barley Commission Authorization

Regulation (AR 122/99) is amended by this Regulation.

Section 1(1) is repealed and the following is substituted:

Definitions

1(1) In this Regulation,

(a) "Act" means the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act;

(b) "Plan" means the Alberta Barley Plan Regulation

(AR 111/99).

Section 2 is amended by striking out "to make regulations"

and substituting "to make the following regulations:"

Section 4 is amended by striking out "2009" and

substituting "2014".

AMENDMENT REGULATION

Act and approved by the Agricultural Products Marketing Council on December 19,

2008 pursuant to

section 26 of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act.

1 The Alberta Sheep and Wool Commission Regulation

(AR 389/2003) is amended by this Regulation.

2 The title is amended by striking out "SHEEP AND WOOL

COMMISSION" and substituting "LAMB PRODUCERS".

Section 1(1) is amended

(

a) in clause (

b) by striking out "Sheep and Wool

Commission" and substituting "Lamb Producers";

(

b) in clause (

g) by striking out "Sheep and Wool

Commission" and substituting "Lamb Producers".

4 This Regulation comes into force on February 1, 2009.
