Salsman Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-580 (June 1, 1972), N.S. Reg. 128/72

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 25th day of May, A.D., 1972, pursuant to

Section 2 of

Chapter 244 of the

Revised Statutes, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her

Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at Middle

Country Harbour, County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a

provincial park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands

described in

Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked

Schedule “B”, both schedules attached to the report and recommendation; and

(

b) declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Salsman Provincial Park”.

Schedule “A”

Salsman Provincial Park

All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land, situate, lying and being at or near Middle

Country Harbour, County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, shown as Lots “A”, “B”

and “C” on Plan E-5-17 on file at the Crown Land Registry Office, Department of Lands and

Forests, Halifax, being more particularly described as follows:

Lot “A”

Beginning at Crown Land iron post No. 1 situated on the northerly boundary of the old

Highway loading from Goshen to Stormont;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) north nine degrees twenty-four minutes east, one

hundred feet to Crown Land iron post No. 2;

Thence north eighty degrees thirty-six minutes west, one hundred feet to Crown Land iron post

No. 3;

Thence south nine degrees twenty-four minutes west, one hundred feet to Crown Land iron

post No. 4 situated on the northerly boundary of aforementioned highway;

Thence along the said northerly boundary of said highway, south eighty degrees thirty-six

minutes east, one hundred feet to the place of beginning containing decimal twenty-three acres.

Lot “B”

Beginning at Crown Land iron post No. 6 situated at the intersection of the westerly boundary

of the old highway leading from Goshen to Stormont with the easterly edge of Palmer Brook

so-called;

From thence in a southeasterly direction along the aforementioned westerly boundary of the

old highway leading from Goshen to Stormont until it intersects the northerly boundary of the

new or revamped highway No. 316;

Thence continuing southerly following the westerly boundary of the old highway and crossing

the right-of-way of the new or revamped highway No. 316 until intersects the southerly

boundary of the said new highway;

Thence easterly following the southerly boundary of the new or revamped highway a distance

of approximately twenty-three hundred and ten feet or until it intersects the mean high water

line of Country Harbour;

Thence southeasterly along the mean high water line or Country Harbour to Crown Land iron

post No. 5;

Thence along the mean high water line of the eastern shore of Country Harbour in a generally

northwesterly direction to Crown Land iron post No. 9, set at the intersection of the said mean

high water line of Country Harbour with the easterly edge of aforementioned Palmer Brook,

said iron post No. 9 being the following traverse courses by astronomic bearings from the

aforementioned iron post No. 5;

(N 76° 29' W; 107.3 feet);

(S 42° 55' W; 156.4 feet);

(N 44° 25' W; 107.2 feet);

(S 83° 43' W; 224.9 feet);

(S 16° 59' W; 194.1 feet);

(N 75° 43' W; 62.7 feet);

(N 57° 38' E; 52.1 feet);

(N 15° 34' E; 143.4 feet);

(N 25° 21' E; 26.1 feet);

(N 49° 35' E; 54.2 feet);

(N 15° 00' W; 153.0 feet) to the place of beginning containing twenty decimal four acres more

or less.

Excepting and reserving any grants of right-of-way or easement for public utilities over the

above described lands.

Lot “C”

Comprising an island and causeway connected to the previously described lot “B” and

immediately to the south of said lot “B” containing five decimal four acres more or less.
