OIC Number: 2004 - 463 Date of Order: Dec 03, 2004 OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Economic Development dated November 9, 2004, and pursuant to Order in Council 76-373 and a Memorandum of Agreement between the Province of Nova Scotia and the Waterfront Development Corporation, is pleased to: (
a) approve the reappointment of John Leedham of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited for a term of four (4) years commencing December 1, 2004 and ending November 30, 2008; (
b) approve the reappointment of Ken R. Giffin of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited for a term of four (4) years commencing December 1, 2004 and ending November 30, 2008; (
c) approve the reappointment of Brian Lugar of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited for a term of four (4) years commencing December 1, 2004 and ending November 30, 2008; (
d) approve the reappointment of Eric F.G. Thomson of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited for a term of four (4) years commencing December 1, 2004 and ending November 30, 2008; (
e) approve the reappointment of Eric F.G. Thomson as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited for a term of four (4) years commencing December 1, 2004 and ending November 30, 2008; (
f) authorize the payment of $150.00 per day to the members of the Board for work involving the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited; and (
g) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province shall be in control of the case.
