Statute: Public Highways Act Expropriation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated March 24, 2026, and pursuant to

Section 18 of

Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act and

Section 80 of

Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act, is pleased, effective on and after April 14, 2026, to: (

a) extinguish the right of the public to use that portion of the public highway, identified as Parcels A and B, containing a total area of ±5,539.4 square meters (±1.369 acres), located at or near Shore Road, Margaree Harbour, Inverness County, more particularly described in

Schedule "A" and as shown on

Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) authorize the conveyance of the surplus land, Parcels A and B, to Cyril Joseph Lefort and Theresa Marie Lefort, both of Margaree Harbour, Inverness County for the consideration of $1,100.00 plus HST of $154.00 for a total purchase price of $1,254.00; (

c) authorize the Minister of Public Works to make and execute a Deed of Conveyance in such form as the Minister determines to effect the conveyance of the land herein above described; and (

d) authorize the Minister of Public Works to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
