OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated August 4, 2005, and pursuant to
Section 22 of
Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to: (
a) reappoint Sister Dorothy Moore of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of office of three years commencing September 2, 2005; (
b) reappoint Lance R. Hale, of Kentville, Kings County, as a commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of office of three years commencing September 2, 2005; (
c) reappoint Louis A. Gannon, Jr., of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of office of three years commencing September 2, 2005; (
d) determine that each of Sister Dorothy Moore, Lance R. Hale and Louis A Gannon, Jr., be paid remuneration at the rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission, plus reasonable expenses incurred; (
e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Sister Dorothy Moore, Lance R. Hale and Louis A. Gannon, Jr., and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
