OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated November 22, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 672.38 and 672.39 of

Chapter C-46 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, the Criminal Code , is pleased to: (

a) appoint Dr. Joanna Hessen Kayfitz of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax), Dominic Clamp of Halifax Regional Municipality (Bedford), and Melanie MacNaughton of Digby, Digby County, as members of the Nova Scotia Criminal Code Review Board, each for a term of three (3) years commencing December 13, 2022; (

b) reappoint Dr. Patricia Pearce of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a Psychiatrist member of the Nova Scotia Criminal Code Review Board for a term of three (3) years commencing December 13, 2022; (

c) reappoint Dr. Brian McCormick of Halifax Regional Municipality (West Chezzetcook) as a member of the Nova Scotia Criminal Code Review Board for a term of three (3) years commencing December 13, 2022; (

d) reappoint Dr. Michael Teehan of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a Psychiatrist member of the Nova Scotia Criminal Code Review Board for a term of three (3) years commencing January 16, 2023; (

e) determine that, in addition to remuneration as set out in Order in Council 2018-349 dated December 21, 2018, for time spent necessarily attending to duties as Psychiatrist members of the Nova Scotia Criminal Review Board, Dr. Michael Teehan and Dr. Patricia Pearce shall be paid such actual and reasonable travel and other expenses as may be incurred in the performance of their duties, payable in accordance with the travel policies and guidelines of the Province of Nova Scotia applicable to civil servants; and (

f) determine that Dr. Brian McCormick, Dr. Joanna Hessen Kayfitz, Dominic Clamp, and Melanie MacNaughton shall be remunerated at the rate of $75.00 per hour and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling their duties as members of the Nova Scotia Criminal Code Review Board, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
