EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE This Bill proclaims October 15 in each year as "Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day". Le présent projet de loi proclame le 15 octobre « Journée de sensibilisation au deuil périnatal ».

1 BILL 226 PROJET DE LOI 226 THE PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS AWARENESS DAY ACT

WHEREAS many Manitoba parents and families have suffered a miscarriage, a stillbirth or the death o f an infant during delivery or shortly after birth; AND

WHEREAS those parents and families deserve and require support and understanding during their time of grief; AND

WHEREAS promoting awareness of the challenges faced by those parents and families is a positive means of establishing support and understanding; Attendu : qu'au Manitoba beaucoup de parents et de familles ont vécu un deuil périnatal; que ces parents et ces familles méritent et requièrent du soutien et de la compréhension au cours de leur deuil; qu'il faut favoriser la sensibilisation de la population aux défis auxquels ils font face si on veut qu'ils reçoivent du soutien et de la compréhension, THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows: SA MAJESTÉ, sur l'avis et avec le consentement de l'Assemblée législative du Manitoba, édicte : Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day 1 In each year, October 15 is to be known throughout Manitoba as "Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day".

2 C.C.S.M. reference 2 This Act may be referred to as
