B.C. Reg. 378/2003, deposited October 24, 2003, pursuant to the HOTEL ROOM TAX ACT [Section 43 (2) (

e) and (f)]. Order in Council 981/2003, approved and ordered October 23, 2003.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective January 1, 2004, the following regulation is made:

ADDITIONAL TAX REGULATION (CITY OF KELOWNA)

Section 3 (1) of the Hotel Room Tax Act applies in respect of accommodation purchased within the City of Kelowna on or before January 1, 2009.

2 The additional tax payable under that

section is 2% of the purchase price of the accommodation.

3 The purposes for which the amount paid to the municipality out of the revenue collected from the tax may be expended are tourism marketing, programs and projects. — G. COLLINS, Minister of Finance; C. CLARK, Presiding Member of the Executive Council.
