OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Education dated April 12, 2001, and pursuant to Sections 26, 27 and 28 of

Chapter 23 of the Acts of 1998, the Private Career Colleges Regulation Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Darlene Guité of R.R.#1 Hubbards, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Private Career Colleges Board for a term of office of one year commencing April 24, 2001, and ending April 23, 2002; (

b) appoint T. Gregory Coleman of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a member of the Private Career Colleges Board for a term of office of two years commencing April 24, 2001, and ending April 23, 2003; (

c) appoint Kelly Richards of Beaver Bank, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Private Career Colleges Board for a term of office of two years commencing April 24, 2001, and ending April 23, 2003; (

d) appoint Edward Sampson of R.R.#4 Tatamagouche, Colchester County, as a member of the Private Career Colleges Board for a term of office of three years commencing April 24, 2001, and ending April 23, 2004; and (

e) determine that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Darlene Guité, T. Gregory Coleman, Kelly Richards and Edward Sampson as members of the Private Career Colleges Board and indemnify them from personal liability provided, however, that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of the their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
