Statute: Nova Scotia Museum Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage dated March 31, 2006, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 315 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Nova Scotia Museum Act, is pleased to, effective May 1, 2006: (

a) appoint J. Redmond O'Keefe of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Museum Board of Governors for a term of office of three years; (

b) appoint Peter Verner of Boutilier's Point, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Museum Board of Governors for a term of office of three years; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against J. Redmond O'Keefe and Peter Verner and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
