On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that

(

a) the Log Salvage Regulation for the Vancouver Log Salvage District, B.C. Reg. 220/81, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix 1,

(

b) the Timber Marking and Transportation Regulation, B.C. Reg. 253/97, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix 2, and

(

c) the Scaling Regulation, B.C. Reg. 446/94, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix 3.

Appendix 1

Section 9 (4) of the Log Salvage Regulation for the Vancouver Log Salvage District, B.C. Reg. 220/81, is amended by striking out “ the minister ” and substituting “ the minister or a forest officer ”.

2 Sections 12 (2) (d) (ii) (B), 13 (2) (c), 14 (

b) and 16 (2) are amended by striking out “ a forest officer ” and substituting “ the minister ”.

Section 16 (4) (

d) is amended by striking out “ consent of a forest officer and on terms specified by the officer, ” and substituting “ consent of the minister and on terms specified by the minister, ”.

Appendix 2

1 Sections 4 (1) (a) (iii), 6, 7 (a) (iii) and 10 (3) of the Timber Marking and Transportation Regulation, B.C. Reg. 253/97, are amended by striking out “ a forest officer ” and substituting “ the minister ”.

Section 5 (3) is amended by striking out “ a district manager or a forest officer appointed by the district manager ” and substituting “ the minister ” and by striking out “ the manager or officer ” and substituting “ the minister ”.

Section 8 (1) is repealed and the following substituted:

(1) If it is not feasible to apply the scaled timber brand as required by

section 7.1 or 7.2, the scaled timber brand may be applied to each load or bundle as directed by the minister.

Appendix 3

Section 7 (

a) of the Scaling Regulation, B.C. Reg. 446/94, is amended by striking out “

section 105 (1) (b) ” and substituting “

section 105 (1) (c)” .
