OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture dated April 4, 2006, pursuant to Sections 25, 26 and 27 of

Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1996, the Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Martin Cottreau of Wedgeport, Yarmouth County, as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a further term of office of three years commencing May l, 2006 and ending April 30, 2009; (

b) reappoint Edmond Aucoin of Antigonish, Antigonish County, as a member and designate him as Vice-chair of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a further term of office of three years commencing May l, 2006 and ending April 30, 2009; (

c) reappoint Eric Nowe of RR#2, Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a further term of office of three years commencing May l, 2006 and ending April 30, 2009; (

d) reappoint Peter Burnie of Digby, Digby County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a further term of office of three years commencing May l, 2006 and ending April 30, 2009; (

e) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Chair to be $150 per day; (

f) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Vice-chair or member to be $100 per day; (

g) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the Chair, Vice-chair and members in carrying out duties of the Board shall be paid in accordance with provincial government policy; (

h) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against the Chair, Vice-chair and members and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case; and (

i) determine, as a condition of appointment, that the Chair, Vice-chair and members shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
