An Act to Establish the Shubenacadie Canal Commission

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated October 3, 2006, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 97 of the Acts of 1986,

An Act to Establish the Shubenacadie Canal Commission, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Gordon Warnica of Fall River, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Shubenacadie Canal Commission for a term of office of three years commencing March 28, 2006; (

b) reappoint Maurice Lloyd of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Shubenacadie Canal Commission for a term of office of three years commencing May 31, 2006; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Gordon Warnica and Maurice Lloyd and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
