OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations dated November 8, 2007, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 6 of
Chapter 301 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Municipal Finance Corporation Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Rick Farmer, of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Municipal Finance Corporation for a term effective October 27, 2007, and expiring on June 30, 2010; (
b) determine the remuneration of Rick Farmer as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Municipal Finance Corporation shall be as set out in Order in Council 79-1374; and (
c) order that the Province will defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against a person appointed by the Province to any agency or board, including board of directors of a corporation or commission, and indemnify them from personal liability, provided the selection of the person was at the sole discretion of the Province and the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of the person's activities in relation to the appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity. Wherever the Province defends an appointee pursuant to the aforementioned, the Province will be in control of the case.
