OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated December 18, 2003, and pursuant to the Public Service Act, the Public Service Superannuation Act, the Civil Service Act, the

Interpretation Act and all other authority in her vested, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of the undernoted persons from the positions set out opposite their names, all effective December 31, 2003, unless otherwise noted: Peter Underwood - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries; Robert MacKay - Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Economic Development; Ronald L'Esperance - Deputy Minister of Environment and Labour, effective December 12, 2003; Daniel Graham - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources;\x0c Vicki Harnish - Public Service Commissioner and Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board; Michele McKenzie - Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage; Howard Windsor - Deputy Minister of Finance; (

b) appoint the undernoted persons to the positions set out opposite their names, all effective January 1, 2004, unless otherwise noted: Daniel Graham - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries; Paul Taylor - Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Economic Development who may be referred to as the Deputy Minister of Economic Development; Murrin Leim -Acting Deputy Minister of Environment and Labour effective December 12, 2003 for a term to end May 31, 2004; William Lahey - Deputy Minister of Environment and Labour, effective June 1, 2004; Peter Underwood - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources; Gordon MacLean, Acting Public Service Commissioner effective January 1, 2004 for a term to end January 31, 2004; Rick Nurse - Public Service Commissioner, effective February 1, 2004; Kelliann Dean - Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage; Howard Windsor - Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia who may be referred to as the Deputy Minister of Communications Nova Scotia; Vicki Harnish - Deputy Minister of Finance; Robert MacKay - Special Projects Advisor; (

c) designate those persons appointed by paragraph (

b) of this Order in Council as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act and the Public Service Act and direct that they shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; (

d) designate those persons appointed by paragraph (

b) of this Order in Council to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; and (

e) fix and determine the salaries of those persons appointed by paragraph (

b) of this Order in Council to be paid at such rate as may be determined by Treasury and Policy Board.
