Statute: Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health and Wellness dated October 28, 2016, is pleased to: (

a) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

a) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , appoint Dr. Ian Slayter of Antigonish, Antigonish County, and Dr. Philip J. Mills of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as psychiatrist members to the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act each for a three (3) year term commencing November 22, 2016; (

b) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

b) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , appoint David N. Muise of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Sydney), Jasmine Ghosn of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) and Julie M. Kirkpatrick of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (D’Escousse) as lawyer members to the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act each for a three (3) year term commencing November 22, 2016; (

c) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

b) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , appoint Gregg W. Knudsen of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) and Melanie Petrunia of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as lawyer members to the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act each for a three (3) year term commencing on February 1, 2017; (

d) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

c) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , appoint David Merrigan of Halifax Regional Municipality (Hammonds Plains), John A. Manning of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) and Dr. Marie Poisson of Halifax Regional Municipality (Whites Lake) as lay members of the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act each for a three (3) year term commencing November 22, 2016; and (

e) confirm remuneration will be paid to the members in accordance with rates set out in Order in Council 2011-183 dated May 24, 2011.
