B.C. Reg. 116/2020 , deposited May 29, 2020, under the RESIDENTIAL TENANCY ACT [section 97 (2) (d.1), (d.2) and (d.3)]. Order in Council 272/2020, approved and

ordered May 29, 2020.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with

the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective May 30, 2020,

the Residential Tenancy Regulation, B.C. Reg. 477/2003, is amended

(

a) in

section 38

(

i) in the definition of "family violence confirmation statement" by striking out "

section 45.1 (2) (a) " and substituting "

section 45.1 (2) (a) (i) ", and

(ii) by adding the following definition:

"household violence confirmation statement" means a confirmation statement that confirms a tenant's eligibility, under

section 45.1 (2) (a) (ii)

of the Act, to end a fixed term tenancy; ,

(

b) in

section 39 by striking out " a family violence confirmation statement " and substituting " family violence confirmation statements and household violence confirmation statements ",

(

c) in

section 41 (

a) by adding " and, if applicable in respect of household violence, the occupant and the occupant's

circumstances " after " the tenant's circumstances ", and

(

d) in

section 42 (1) by striking out " tenant's circumstances " and substituting " tenant's, occupant's or tenant's and occupant's circumstances, as applicable, ".
