OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Premier and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs dated March 18, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 2 of

Chapter 256 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Lieutenant Governor and Great Seal Act ,

Section 65 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , and the prerogative authority of the Governor in Council to use a legal instrument, such as a letters patent issued under the Great Seal of Nova Scotia, to grant an honorary distinction to a person, is pleased, effective March 29, 2022, to request the concurrence of the Lieutenant Governor on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen to be indicated by the affixing of his signature to the letters patent, and to order that the letters patent in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of this Report and Recommendation be issued under the Great Seal of the Province of Nova Scotia, to: (

a) create a medal designated as The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Nova Scotia) in the form and style set out in the letters patent; (

b) make new rules respecting the administration of, eligibility for, and allocation of The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Nova Scotia) in the manner set forth in the letters patent; (

c) specify that the rules made in clause (

b) are subject to any amendments or repeal by future letters patent; and (

d) apply to the Government of Canada to have The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Nova Scotia) recognized and included in the (Canadian) Order of Precedence for Wearing Canadian Orders, Decorations and Medals.
