OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated September 8, 2022, and pursuant to Sections 3 and 4 of

Chapter 252 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Legal Aid Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Christopher Boyd of Antigonish, Antigonish County, as part-time Director of the Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission, for a term of three (3) years commencing October 4, 2022; (

b) order that Christopher Boyd be remunerated at the rate of $150.00 for each day of meetings of the Commission or a committee of the Commission, to a maximum of $600.00 for each fiscal year and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling his duties as part-time Director of the Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Christopher Boyd and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case.
