Statute: Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, dated June 22, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 25, 26 and 27 of

Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1996, the Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Doug MacDonald as a Member of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a term of two years commencing September 6, 2011; (

b) order that he be remunerated for his service in the amount of $100 per day and that he be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling his duties as a Member of the Board, provided that any such reimbursement does not exceed those normally payable to a member of the civil service; (

c) bind Members, as a condition of appointment, by the principles and purposes of Values, Ethics and Conduct: A Code for Nova Scotia's Public Servants, the Conflict of Interest Policy and

Chapter 4 of the Acts of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against Members and indemnify them from personal liability, provided the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
