Order in Council 514/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the position of Special Advisor, Chief Investment Officer was established by Order in Council number O.C. 512/2017, dated March 8, 2017;

And

whereas Allan O’Dette has been appointed as Special Advisor, Chief Investment Officer (“Special Advisor”) by Order in Council number O.C. 513/2017, dated March 8, 2017;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of advisors who serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities, in respect of his appointment as Special Advisor, Allan O’Dette shall be entitled to the following remuneration:

Remuneration

Annual remuneration of $340,000 per year.

Severance

An amount equivalent to one year of annual remuneration in the event of early termination of the appointment by the Crown for any reason except for cause.

Expenses

Reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of the Special Advisor in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and other applicable directives.
