NAME AMENDMENT ACT, 2019

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Section 2 (2) (

a) of the Name Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 328, is repealed and the following is substituted:

(

a) to a change in the surname of one spouse to the surname of the other spouse or to the surname of both spouses, hyphenated or combined; .

Section 3 is amended:

(

a) in paragraph (

b) by striking out " or " ,

(

b) in paragraph (

c) by striking out " marriage. " and substituting " marriage, or " , and

(

c) by adding the following paragraph:

(

d) use the surname of both spouses, hyphenated or combined.
