OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated September 29, 2020, and pursuant to
Section 72 of
Chapter 28 of the Acts of 2004, the Legal Profession Act, is pleased, effective October 20, 2020, to: (
a) reappoint Robert G. MacKeigan, Q.C. of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as Chair of the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia Board for a term of one (1) year; (
b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Robert G. MacKeigan, Q.C., and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case.
