WHEREAS Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the company") was incorporated under the laws of the Province of British Columbia on June 7, 1950;

AND

WHEREAS the company was a loan company within the meaning of The Companies Act ;

AND

WHEREAS the company, by its petition, prayed that it should be authorized to carry on business in the Province of Manitoba as a loan company;

AND

WHEREAS its prayer was granted, and resulted in the enactment of

An Act respecting Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. Business Authorization , assented to March 30, 1962;

ATTENDU QUE la compagnie dénommée « Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. » (la « Compagnie ») a été constituée en vertu des lois de la province de Colombie-Britannique le 7 juin 1950;

ATTENDU QUE la Compagnie était une compagnie de prêt au sens de la loi intitulée « The Companies Act »;

ATTENDU QUE la Compagnie a demandé l'autorisation d'exercer ses activités dans la province du Manitoba en tant que compagnie de prêt;

ATTENDU QUE sa demande a été reçue et qu'il en a résulté l'adoption d'une loi intitulée «

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Authority to carry on business continued

1 The authority of Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. to carry on business in the Province of Manitoba is continued.

Prorogation

NOTE: This Act replaces S.M. 1962, c. 121.
