CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Penalties and Forfeitures Act (Assented to June 2, 1983) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Penalties and Forfeitures Amendment Act, 1983. Rev. Stat. c.P-5,

section amended 2(1) The Penalties and Forfeitures Act is amended in the manner set forth in this section. (2) Subsection 2(1) is amended by striking out “ The Lieutenant ” and substituting “Subject to subsection (1.1), the Lieutenant”.

(3) The following subsection is added after subsection 2(1): “

(1.1) Where a pecuniary penalty or forfeiture mentioned in subsection (1) is not more than $300, the Attorney General may remit that penalty or forfeiture in whole or in part and shall cause to be published in

Part I of the Gazette a notice with respect to each penalty or forfeiture remitted by him pursuant to this subsection showing: (

a) the name of the person to whom the remission relates; (

b) the charge with respect to which the penalty or forfeiture was imposed; and (

c) the amount or effect of the remission”. (4) Subsection 2(2) is amended: (

a) by striking out “ Subsection (1)” and substituting “ Subsections (1) and (1.1)”; and (

b) by striking out “The Legislative Assembly Act” and substituting “The Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Act”. UNEDITED REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN Printed by the authority of THE QUEEN’S PRINTER
