Section 6 of the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated February 25, 2026, is pleased, effective on and after March 27, 2026, (

a) pursuant to

Section 77 of

Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2010, the Finance Act, to authorize the Minister of Agriculture and the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission entering into net debt obligations in the form of indemnities for the purpose of agreements with the Minister of Agriculture and Agrifood Canada, the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation of Alberta and the Agri-Commodity Management Association until March 31, 2028; and (

b) pursuant to

Section 6 of

Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act, to approve amendments made by the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Commission respecting the Livestock Price Insurance Plan Regulations, N.S. Reg. 23/2025, approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2025-21 dated February 4, 2025, to ensure consistency with the Maritime Livestock Price Insurance Pilot Program in the manner set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation. 166

Schedule “A” Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission Amendment to the Livestock Price Insurance Plan Regulations made under the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act I certify that the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission, at a meeting held January 30, 2026, passed a motion to amend the Livestock Price Insurance Plan Regulations, N.S. Reg. 23/2025, approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2025-21 dated February 4, 2025, in the manner set out in the attached. These amendments are effective on and after the date they are filed with the Registrar of Regulations.

Section 6 of

Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act 1

Section 2 of the Livestock Price Insurance Plan Regulations, N.S. Reg. 23/2025, made by the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission and approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2025-21 dated February 4, 2025, is amended by (

a) repealing the definition of “calves”; (

b) repealing the definition of “eligible livestock”; (

c) repealing the definition of “feeder cattle”; and (

d) adding the following definition immediately before the definition of “insurance policy”: “insurable livestock” means cattle, as designated under clause 4(

a) of the Designation of Insurable Crops and Livestock Regulations made under the Act; 2 Subsection 4(2) of the regulations is amended by striking out “insured” and substituting “insurable”. 3 Clause 6(1)(

a) of the regulations is repealed and the following clause substituted: (

a) they are the producer of the insurable livestock for which livestock price insurance is sought; 4

Section 7 of the regulations is repealed. 5

Section 8 of the regulations is amended by adding the following subsection immediately after subsection (4): 167

(5) Insurable livestock must meet the conditions established by the MLPIP, including but not limited to class and ownership requirements. 6
