Section 2 of the Corporations Regulations is amended by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (a), replacing the period at the end of paragraph (

b) with a semi-colon and adding immediately after paragraph (

Section 27 of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: 27.

(1) The financial statements referred to in paragraph 258(1)(

a) of the Act shall be prepared in accordance with the standards of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Ac countants set out in the C.I.C.A. Handbook including any amendments to it.

(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), a reporting issuer may pre- pare financial statements referred to in paragraph 258(1)(

a) of the Act in accordance with other standards as may be permitted in the rules made under

section 144.1 of the Securities Act.

Section 28 of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: 28.

(1) The auditor's report referred to in

section 274 of the Act shall be prepared in accordance with the standards of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants set out in the C.I.C.A. Handbook including any amendments to it.

(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1) the auditor's report of a re- porting issuer referred to in

section 274 of the Act may be prepared in accordance with other standards as ma y be permitted in the rules made under
