Frenchman's Cove Provincial Park Proclamation

under the

Provincial Parks Act

(O.C. 96-189)

Under the authority of

section 4 of the Provincial Parks Act

and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act

, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council proclaims the area described in the

Schedule to be a provincial park.

The Frenchman's Cove Park Proclamation, Newfoundland Regulation 181/80, is repealed.

Schedule

All that piece or parcel of land situate and being near Frenchman's Cove in the province, abutted and bounded as follows, that is to say:

Beginning at a point in the southerly limit of the highway, 20.1 metres wide, extending between Grand Bank and Garnish, that point having reference from the southeast corner of the concrete highway bridge spanning Barasway River as follows: south 55 05' east 4.3 metres, and then south 70 22' east 76.2 metres, and then south 80 03' east 171 metres, and then south 30 26' west 4.8 metres to an iron marker at the point of beginning;

Then running along the southerly limit of the highway in an easterly direction 282.5 metres, more or less;

Then following the shoreline of Great Garnish Barasway at high water mark in a southerly direction 243.8 metres, and then in a southwesterly direction 1,158.2 metres, and then in a westerly direction 792.5 metres, and then in a northwesterly direction 538 metres;

Then following the shoreline and continuing along the southerly shoreline of Barasway River in an easterly direction 1,188.7 metres;

Then turning and running south 43 26' east 14 metres, and then south 14 45' east 13.7 metres, more or less;

Then running by an Anglican Cemetery south 47 41' west 48.3 metres, and then south 34 22' east 32.1 metres, and then north 60 22' east 40 metres, more or less;

Then running along the westerly limit of a road in a general southerly direction 155.5 metres to a point;

Then crossing the southern extremity of that road and running north 77 45' east 160 metres, more or less, to an iron marker;

Then running north 42 25' east 335.3 metres, more or less, to an iron marker;

Then running north 30 26' east 184.9 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning and containing an area of 50.6 hectares, more or less.

All bearings being magnetic.
