AN ACT TO AMEND THE ALBERTA HEALTH CARE INSURANCE ACT ( Assented to ,1974) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assemhly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. The Alberta Health Care Insurance Act is hereby amended.

Section 2, clause (l), subclause (

i) is amended by adding at the end thereof the words "but excluding services intended for procuring the miscarriage ·of a female person, unless the !continuation of the pregnancy of such female person would or would be likely to seriously endanger her life and for the purposes of this section, a certificate issued by a therapeutic abortion committee pursuant to

section 251, subsection (4), clause (

c) of the Criminal Code of Canada stating that in its opinion the continuation of the pregnancy of such female person would be likely to seriously endanger her life shall be conclusive evidence of such danger" .. 3. This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by Proclamation. Title: 1974 (17th, 3rd) Bill 227,
