CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Fire Prevention Act, 1980 (Assented to June 15, 1988) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Fire Prevention Amendment Act, 1988. S.S. 1979-80, c.F-15.01 The Fire Prevention Act, 1980 is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended Clause 2(

i) is repealed and the following substituted: “inspector” “(i) ‘inspector’ means the Fire Commissioner, the Deputy Fire Commissioner or an inspector appointed by the Public Service Commission pursuant to subsection 3(1) or designated by the Fire Commissioner pursuant to subsection 3(2), but does not include a municipal inspector”.

Section amended

Section is amended: (

a) by renumbering it as subsection 3(1); and (

b) by adding the following subsection after subsection (1): “

(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), the Fire Commissioner may designate persons employed pursuant to The Gas Inspection Act as inspectors for the purposes of this Act”. Coming into force This Act or any provision of this Act comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
