ELECTION AMENDMENT ACT (NO. 2), 2018

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Section 215.02 (4) of the Election Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 106, is amended:

(

a) in paragraph (

a) by striking out “ or ” at the end of the paragraph, and

(

b) in paragraph (

b) by striking out the period at the end of the paragraph and substituting “ , or ” and by adding the following paragraph:

(

c) chooses to have reserved positions on their elected or appointed committees or boards for corporations, Chambers of Commerce, labour or trade unions.

Section 215.04 is amended by adding the following subsection:

(10) A reimbursement for reimbursable election expenses shall not be paid to a political party that chooses to have reserved positions on their elected or appointed committees or boards for corporations, Chambers of Commerce, labour or trade unions.
