PASSENGER ROPEWAYS AND PASSENGER CONVEYORS

STANDARDS REGULATION

Interpretation

1 For the purposes of the Act and this Regulation, a passenger

conveyor is designated as an elevating device.

Declaration of Standard in force

2 CSA Standard Z98-07, Passenger Ropeways and Passenger

Conveyors is declared in force in respect of passenger ropeways and

passenger conveyors.

Variations

3 Despite any note or other text in CSA Standard Z98-07, Passenger

Ropeways and Passenger Conveyors, the Standard is varied by

declaring Annexes A, C, D, E, F, G, H, J and K and any references to

those annexes in the Standard as mandatory.

Paramountcy

4 If there is a conflict between CSA Standard Z98-07, Passenger

Ropeways and Passenger Conveyors as declared in force in this

Regulation and the Elevating Devices, Passenger Ropeways and

Amusement Rides Permit Regulation (AR 286/2002), that Regulation

prevails over the Standard.

Disclaimer

5 CSA Standard Z98-07, Passenger Ropeways and Passenger

Conveyors and any codes or standards referenced in the Standard, do

not make or imply any assurance or guarantee by the Crown in right of

Alberta with respect to the life expectancy, durability or operating

performance of equipment or materials referenced in the Standard or

codes or standards referenced in the Standard.

Repeal

6 The Passenger Ropeways Standards Regulation (AR 3/2002) is

repealed.

Expiry

7 For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for

ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be

repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this

Regulation expires on February 28, 2016.

Coming into force

8 This Regulation comes into force on December 1, 2008.

JUDGMENT INTEREST AMENDMENT REGULATION

1 The Judgment Interest Regulation (AR 364/84) is

amended by this Regulation.

2 The following is added after

section 24:

25 The interest rate from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009

is prescribed at 2.75% per year.

WELDER TRADE AMENDMENT REGULATION

by this Regulation.

Section 8(2) is amended by striking out "2" wherever it

occurs and substituting "3".

SUGAR BEET MARKETING PLAN AMENDMENT REGULATION

Products Act.

1 The Sugar Beet Marketing Plan Regulation (AR 275/97) is

amended by this Regulation.

Section 1 is amended by adding the following after

clause (d):

(d.1) "licensed processor" means a person who holds a

processor's licence under the Sugar Beet Production

and Marketing Regulation (AR 287/97);

Section 5(

c) and (

d) are amended by adding "licensed"

before "processors".

Section 11(2)(

b) is amended

(

a) by adding "registered" before "producer";

(

b) by adding "licensed" before "processor" wherever it

occurs.

Section 14(

a) is amended by striking out "who produce

sugar beets".

Section 15(2) is amended by striking out "who produce

sugar beets".

Section 16(

b) is amended

(

a) by striking out "6 of the 8" and substituting "5 of the

7";

(

b) by adding "chair and" after "other than the".

Section 22 is amended by striking out "who produce sugar

beets".

OIL SANDS TENURE AMENDMENT REGULATION

c) of the Personal Directives Act;

Service Dogs Act

SERVICE DOGS QUALIFICATIONS REGULATION

For information only: Made by the Minister of Seniors and Community Supports

(M.O. 052/2008) on November 19, 2008 pursuant to

section 5 of the Service Dogs

Act.

Qualifications

1 A dog that

(

a) has qualifications resulting from the successful completion of

a training program delivered by a school or institution

approved by Assistance Dogs International, Inc., or

(

b) has passed a challenge test established or approved by the

Minister,

has the qualifications of a service dog for the purposes of the Act.

Expiry

2 For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for

ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be

repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this

Regulation expires on March 31, 2014.

Coming into force

3 This Regulation comes into force on January 1, 2009.
