OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated July 3, 2023, and pursuant to subsection 6(4) of

Chapter 430 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Small Claims Court Act , is pleased to: (

a) repeal Order in Council 2005-153 dated April 14, 2005; (

b) repeal Order in Council 2006-58 dated February 10, 2006; (

c) repeal Order in Council 2007-171, dated March 27, 2007; (

d) repeal Order in Council 2007-359, dated June 22, 2007; and (

e) determine the remuneration for an Adjudicator of the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia, effective September 12, 2023, to be as follows: (

i) the rate of One Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($145.00) per hour or part thereof for each sitting of the court; (ii) the rate of One Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($125.00) per hour or part thereof for up to five (5) hours, for decision-writing time per case; (iii) the fee for preparation of a stated case is fixed at Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00); (iv) an administrative fee, fixed at One Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($125.00) per month to cover disbursements incurred; and (

v) extraordinary expenses that have been approved before they are incurred.
