OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated December 11, 2008, and pursuant to
Section 7 of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act,
Section 2 of
Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, and
Section 10 of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in him vested, is pleased, effective January 5, 2009, to: (
a) revoke the appointment of Paul Taylor as Deputy Minister of Economic Development; (
b) appoint Ian Thompson as Deputy Minister of Economic Development; (
c) fix and determine the salary of Ian Thompson to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister to the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan; (
d) designate Ian Thompson as deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (
e) direct that Ian Thompson shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (
f) designate Ian Thompson to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
