OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Workforce Development dated July 29, 2009, and pursuant to Sections 151, 152 and 153 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Workers' Compensation Act and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of John Gallinger of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employer member of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board; (

b) appoint John Amirault of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employer member of the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of four (4) years commencing October 6, 2009; (

c) appoint Andrew Holley of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employer member of the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of four (4) years commencing October 6, 2009; (

d) re-appoint David Thomson of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employer member of the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of four (4) years commencing October 6, 2009; (

e) re-appoint Janet Hazelton of Truro, Colchester County, as an employee member of the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of four (4) years commencing October 6, 2009; (

f) re-appoint Mary Lloyd of New Glasgow, Pictou County, as an employee member of the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of thee (3) years commencing October 6, 2009; (

g) re-appoint Deborah Ryan of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employee member of the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of three (3) years commencing October 6, 2009; (

h) fix the remuneration for these appointments at $300 per day for attendance at meetings of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board, the attendance at committee meetings and meeting preparation days in addition to reimbursement for reasonable and necessary traveling and other expenses incurred in connection with the work of the Board; and (

i) in addition to the above-noted remuneration, if any member chairs a committee of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board they shall receive an annual honorarium of $2000 for each committee they chair.
