PHYSICIANS, SURGEONS, OSTEOPATHS AND PHYSICIAN

ASSISTANTS PROFESSION AMENDMENT REGULATION

Surgeons of Alberta on July 23, 2025 jointly with a corresponding order made by the

Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services (M.O. 26/2025) on September

3, 2025 pursuant to

section 131 of the Health Professions Act.

1 The Physicians, Surgeons, Osteopaths and Physician

Assistants Profession Regulation (AR 200/2020) is amended

by this Regulation.

Section 7(

a) is amended

(

a) by striking out "either";

(

b) by striking out "or" at the end of subclause (

i) and

adding the following after subclause (i):

(i.1) Alberta Health Services Provincial Health Corporation,

(i.2) a provincial health agency, or

Section 9(2)(a)(ii) is amended by striking out "Alberta

Health Services that it" and substituting "Alberta Health Services,

Alberta Health Services Provincial Health Corporation or a provincial

health agency that Alberta Health Services, Alberta Health Services

Provincial Health Corporation or the provincial health agency, as

applicable,".

AMENDMENT REGULATION

Services (M.O. 28/2025) on August 27, 2025 pursuant to

section 24 of the Provincial

Health Agencies Act.

1 The Patient Concerns Resolution Process Regulation

(AR 124/2006) is amended by this Regulation.

Section 1 is amended

(

a) in clause (

a) by striking out "health authority" and

substituting "provincial health agency";

(

b) by repealing clause (c);

(

c) in clauses (d), (

e) and (

f) by striking out "health

authority" and substituting "provincial health agency".

Section 2 is amended

(

a) in subsections (1), (2) and (3) by striking out "health

authority" wherever it occurs and substituting

"provincial health agency";

(

b) in subsection (4)

(

i) by striking out "health authority" and substituting

"provincial health agency";

(ii) by striking out "health authority's" and

substituting "provincial health agency's".

4 Sections 4(c), 5, 5.3, 5.4 and 6 are amended by striking

out "health authority" wherever it occurs and substituting

"provincial health agency".

Section 6.1 is amended by striking out "or regional health

authority" wherever it occurs.

6 The following is added after

section 6.1:

Expiry

7 For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for

ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be

repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this

Regulation expires on November 30, 2035.

7 This Regulation, except

section 6, comes into force on

the coming into force of

section 45(17) of the Health

Statutes Amendment Act, 2025.

is amended by this Regulation.

c) is repealed and the following is substituted:
