Bill 19 BILL 19 1978 THE UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA HOSPITAL AMENDMENT ACT, 1978 (Assented to ,1978) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The University 0/ Alberta Hospital Act is amended by this Act. 2(J)

Section 2(2) is amended by striking out "shall be concurrent with the calendar year" and substituting "is the period from April 1 to the next following March 31".

(2) Notwithstanding subsection (J), the fiscal year 0/ the Board that ends on March 31, 1978 includes the period from January 1, 1977 to March 31, 1977. 3

Section 12 is repealed and the/ollowing is substituted: 12 The Board shall after the end of each fiscal year make a report to the Minister for that fiscal year which shall include the audited financial statements and such other information as the Minister may require. 4 The Auditor General Act is amended by repealing

section 32(49)(c). 1

Explanatory Notes 1 This Bill will amend

chapter 379 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1970. 2

Section 2 (2) presently reads:

(2) Thefiscalyear of the Board shall be concurrent with the calendar year. 3

Section 12 presently reads: 12(

J) The Board shall make a report annually to the Lieutenant Governor in Council for the 12 months ending on the last day of the fiscal year in respect of which the report is made.

(2) The report shall contain the statements prepared pursuant to

section 11, subsection (J), certified by the Provincial Auditor. 4 Amends

chapter 56 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1977.

Section 32(49) (

c) presently reads in part:

(49) The University of Alberta Hospital Act is amended (

c) by repealing

section 12(2) and substituting the following:

(2) The report shall contain the audited financial statements. 1
