OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated July 31, 2025, and pursuant to
Section 3 of
Chapter 7 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Agriculture and Rural Credit Act , and
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act , hereby: (
a) revokes the appointment of Courtney Mehra of Inverness County as a director of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board made by Order in Council 2024-313 dated August 8, 2024, effective September 4, 2025; (
b) appoints Alix Redden of Cape Breton Regional Municipality, and Steve Streatch of Halifax Regional Municipality as directors of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, both for a term of four years commencing September 4, 2025; (
c) appoints Jeannie van Dyk of Hants County as a director, and designates Jeannie van Dyk as Vice-chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, for a term of four years commencing September 4, 2025; (
d) reappoints Andy Vermeulen of Kings County as a director, and designates Andy Vermeulen as Chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, for a term of one year commencing October 1, 2025; (
e) determines that Alix Redden and Steve Streatch be remunerated in the amount of $100 per day and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling the duties as directors on the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (
f) determines that Jeannie van Dyk be remunerated in the amount of $100 per day and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling the duties as Vice-chair on the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; and (
g) determines that Andy Vermeulen be remunerated in the amount of $150 per day and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling the duties as Chair on the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
