An Act to Amend the Youth Assistance Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: 1

Section of the Youth Assistance Act,

chapter Y-2 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1984, is amended (

a) by striking out the word “and” at the end of paragraph (r); (

b) by striking out the period at the end of para- graph (

s) and substituting a semicolon; (

c) by adding after paragraph (

s) the following: (

t) respecting the amendment of a loan in the current academic year to reflect an extension of the study pe- riod or additional educational expenses due to (

i) the interruption of classes due to a labour stop- page, or (ii) the interruption of classes due to a natural di- saster; and (

u) respecting the continuity of benefits notwith- standing the fact that a student is not attending classes, if the non-attendance is due to PROJET DE LOI Loi modifiant la

Loi sur l’aide à la jeunesse,

chapitre Y-2 des Lois du Nouveau-Brunswick de 1984, est modifiée par :

a) la suppression du mot « et » à la fin de l'alinéa r);

b) la suppression du point à la fin de l'alinéa s) et son remplacement par un point virgule;

c) l'adjonction après l'alinéa s) de ce qui suit :

t) concernant la modification d’un prêt de l’année académique courante pour refléter un prolongement de la période d’étude ou des dépenses éducatives addition- nelles causé par : (

i) l’interruption des classes causée par un arrêt de travail, ou (ii) l’interruption des classes causée par un désas- tre naturel; et

u) concernant la continuité de bénéfices nonobstant le fait qu’un étudiant n’assiste pas aux classes, si la non-assistance est causée par : 2 Projet de loi Loi modifiant la

i) the interruption of classes due to a labour stop- page, or (ii) the interruption of classes due to a natural di- saster. Commencement This Act or any provision of it comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by proclamation. (
