In these regulations, "Band Council" means the band council at Fort Liard recognized as such for the purposes of the Indian Act (Canada) and includes any member of the Band Council where acting under the authorization of the Band Council; (conseil de bande) "Municipal Council" means that committee of persons resident in the Hamlet of Fort Liard ordinarily recognized by the residents of the hamlet as the hamlet council and includes any member of the Municipal Council where acting on the authorization of the Municipal Council. (1) Subject to subsection (2), no person shall purchase, sell or transport within the restricted area as described in

section 2, more liquor in one week than any three units of the following types: (

a) Type 1: 1140 m R of spirits; (

b) Type 2: two dozen m R containers of beer; (

c) Type 3: two m R containers of wine. 3.

(1) Sous réserve du paragraphe (2), il est interdit d'acheter, vendre ou transporter dans le secteur de restriction décrit à l'article plus de boissons alcoolisées dans une semaine que trois unités des catégories qui suivent :

a) Catégorie 1 : 1 m R de spiritueux;

c) Catégorie 3 : deux contenants de m R de vin. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the purchase, sale or transport of liquor by the Municipal Council or Band Council where the liquor shall be consumed at community dances.

Every person who violates any provision of these regulations is guilty of an offence and liable on
