CHAPTER 1 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND" THE MARRIAGE ORDINANCE." , ' , , . (Assented to June 1 tth, ·1931.) The Commissioner of the Yukon Territory, by and with the advice and consent of the Council of said Territory, enacts as follows: ( 1 ) "The Marriage Ordinance," being Chapt~r. 60 of the Orclin'ances of" the Yukon Territory, 1914, is. hereby amended by striking ·out

section 11 of the sai~ Ordinance and substituting therefor the following: Marriage Ordinance amended.

" 11. ( 1 ) ,If one or both of the pa·rties· to an in~, Where . parties te~ded marriage are under the age of twenty-one years, under 21 consent to then before' a marriage license is issued in respect thereof, be obtained. or, in case where no· marriage license is required, then before the publication of the banns thereof, or before any ~uch marriage is performed or contracted, one of the parties fO the intended marriage shan deposit with the issuer of 'marriage licenses, or with the minister or ,clergyman or other person authorized by this Ordinance to perform the marriage ceremony, a consent thereto signed by the persons hereinafter mentioned.

Parties whose consent required. Where party over 18 maintaining sel! apart from parents. Parties over 18 may apply to Court for order. 2· MARRIAGE ORDINANCE, AMENDMENT (2) ~ The persons whose consent shall be deposited are as follows: (

a) The father a~d mother of or such of them as may be living of each of the parties to the intended mar riage where either of the parties is under the age of eigh teen years, and the father or the mothe'r where either of the parties is between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one years. (

b) If both the father and mother of either or both of the parties to the intended marriage are not then living, then a lawfully appointed guardian or the acknowledged guardian who may have brought up or may for three years immediately preceding the intended marriage have sup ported or protected such party or parties respectively.

Provided that where either of the contracting parties is of the age of at least eighteen years, and is maintaining himself or herself and living apart from his or her parents, he or she need not obtain such consent, but shall make an affidavit clearly setting out the above facts, and file the same with the issuer of the license.

Provided further that where either of the contracting parties is of the age of at least eighteen years, and has lived apart from his or her parents for a period of not less than three months immediately preceding the date on which the license is applied for without having during such time received financial aid or support from such parents, an issuer of licenses may, on such facts being duly verified by affidavit to his satisfaction, issue a license without the con sent of the parent or parents of such contracting party.

Provided further that any person between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, whose parent or parents refuse consent, may apply to the Judge of the Territorial Court, and such Judge may, in his discretion, grant an order that a marriage license may issue nqtwithstanqing the lack of such consent.

CHAPTER 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND" AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR A BOUNTY ON WOLVES AND COYOTES." (Assented to June 11th, 1931.) The Commissioner of the Yukon Territory, by and with the advice and consent of the Council of said Territory, enacts as follows: ( 1 ) "An Ordinance to Provide for a Bounty on Wolves and Coyotes," being

Chapter 3 of the Ordinances of the Yukon Territory, 1929, is hereby amended by striking out the figures "$30.00" in the second line of

section 1 thereof, and substituting therefor the words "not more than twenty dollars"; and is further amended by striking out the i:gures "$15.00" in the third line of the said

section I, and substituting therefor the words "not more than ten dollars."

YUKON GAME ORDINANCE, AMENDMENT 5

CHAPTER 4' AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND "THE YUKON GAME ORDINANCE." (Assented to June 11th, 1931.) The Commissioner of the Yukon Territory, by and with the advice and consent of the Council of said Territory, rnacts as follows: ( 1 ) "The Yukon Game Ordinance," being

Chapter 1 of the -Ordinances of :1920, .and amendments thereto, is hereby amended by striking out the words . "fifteenth day of August" in the fourth line of sub-section 7 of

section 4: of . the said Ordinance, and substituting there for the words "first day of September."

(2) The said Ordinan'ce is. further amended by striking out the words "himself personally" in the third line of sub !iection 1 of

section 5 of the said Ordinance, and substituting therefor the words "in writing."

(3) Game Ordinance amended. Sub-sec. 1 of

Sec. 6 amended. The said Ordinance is further amended by striking out Sub-sec. 1 the words "and domiciled in" in the first and second lines ~:":~~eJ.o of sub-section 1 of

section 10 of the said Ordinance.

Sub-sec. 1 of

Sec. 16 amended. Sub-sec. 6 of

Sec. 16 amended.

Sec. 16a amended. 6 YUKON GAME ORDINANCE, AMENDMENT

(4) The said Ordinance i'~"f~rther ~mended by striking out the words "Except as herein otherwise provided" in the first line of sub-section 1 of

section t 5 of the said Ordinance.

(5) Sub-sections 2, 3, 3a, 3b and 4 of

section 15 thereof are hereby repealed.

(6) The said Ordinance is further amended by striking out the words "except under such permit" in the fourth line of sub-section 5 of

section 15 thereof.

(7) Section 15 a of the said Ordinance, as amended by sec tion.l t of

Chapter 5 of the Ordinances of 1924, is hereby amended by inserting immediately after the word "device" in the fifth line of the said

section tithe words "or any shotgun, pistol or rifle."

(8) Section 16 of the said Ordinance is hereby repealed.

(9) Sub-section 3 of

section 32 of the said Ordinance IS hereby repealed.

Schedule "A" are required to~efray. certain further expenses of the Public Service of the Yukon Territory and the City of Dawson and for the p~rposes ·relating thereto for. the year ended March 31 st, 1931; and,

8 SUPPLY Ordinance are required to defray certain expenses of the Public Service of the City of Dawson and for the purposes relating thereto for the twelve months ending March 31, 1932. The Commissioner of the Yukon Territory, by and with the apvice and consent of the Council of said Territory, therefore, enacts as follows: J. From and out of the sums at the disposal of the Yukon Council there shall be paid and applied a further sum not exceeding in the whole one hundred and eighty~two thousand three hundred and eighty dollars and thirty-five cents for defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Service of the Yukon Territory for the year ending March 31! 1931, as set forth in

Schedule "A" of this Ordinance; and from and out of the sums at the disposal of the Yukon Council there shall be paid and applied a further sum not exceeding in the whole one thousand eight hundred dollars and twenty cents for defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Service of the City of Dawson for the year ended March 31, 1931, as set forth ;n

Schedule "A" to this Ordinance. 2. From and out of the funds at the disposat of the Yukon Council there shall and may be paid and applied a sum not exceeding in the whole two hundred and seventeen thousand nine hundred and sixteen dollars and seventy-two ~cnts for defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Service of the Yukon Territory for the twelve months ending March 31, 1932, as set forth in

Schedule "B" of this Ordinance. 3. From and out of the funds at the disposal of the Yukon Council there-shall and may be paid and applied a sum not exceeding thirty-one thousand dollars for defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Service of the City of Dawson for the twelve months ending March 31, 1932, as set forth in

Schedule "C" to this Ordinance. 4. The due application of all moneys expended shall be duly accounted for:

In the event of there being a surplus of moneys standing to the credit of any item voted for Roads, Bridges and Public Works after the construction or repairs pro vided for ha~e ·been completed to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Works and Buildings, such surplus of moneys shall forthwith on the acceptance of such works or repairs by the Commissioner of the Yukon Territory, be taken from said ifem and become part of and be added to the amount proVi:ded for' contingencies to such Roads, Bridges and Publl~ Works, and shall thereafter be at the disposal of the Co~missLon~r of the Yukon Territory for Roads, Bridges and.'P?Jblic~ Works.
